Willington on the Way January-2026
Hi all volunteers and board members,
As I sit here at the beginning of January 2026, I find myself reflecting on the year just past. It truly was a fantastic year—filled with meaningful accomplishments, important changes, and steady progress. Once again, I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to every volunteer who played a part in making this happen. You did an excellent job, and your dedication does not go unnoticed.
Now, as we look ahead to 2026, I see an exciting year taking shape for Willington. We have the Fort Charlotte diorama, which I believe the 250 Committee will be using as a point of reference for their upcoming 250th celebration. We also have new volunteers currently in training, bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to our team.
I would also like to share my major goal for the coming year: to raise significant funds for our construction projects and the renovation of our existing buildings. I am ready to move beyond putting Band-Aids on ongoing issues and instead focus on a complete and lasting renewal of our complex.
If you are a reader of this newsletter and feel inspired to help make this vision a reality, I warmly invite you to consider contributing to this effort. Donations may be made by writing a check payable to “WOTW Construction Fund.” Your support—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference, and I thank you in advance for believing in Willington and helping us build a stronger future together.
With sincere gratitude,
Barry J. Russell
President, Willington on the Way
With that said, I know I will need a great deal of help from our volunteers. If you have ideas, thoughts, or creative approaches on how we can move forward, I truly welcome your input. This is a team effort, and I am confident that—with the incredible team we have—we can accomplish something truly special.
Thank you, as always, for all that you do.
