A note from President Barry Russell

We are excited to welcome our new board members, Erik Engebrigtsen and Susan Ahlgren, to our team here at Willington on the Way. I’m proud to share that our dedicated board and volunteer team continue to drive our mission forward, and their support has been invaluable.

A special thank you to everyone who made our annual fundraiser, Historic Willington Day, such a success! We had our largest bake sale ever and sold over $1,320 in tickets. The highlight of the day was the Murrah-McAllister Historic House tour, a true gem generously shared by Ed McAllister and Joe Carpenter, who have lovingly restored their beautiful home. We're also grateful to Sheriff Cox and Major Burch for their assistance with traffic and safety during the event.

And don’t forget, Willington on the Way, History Center, and Museum offers free genealogy and history services for all who are interested. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and thank you for your continued support!

Fundraising Focus

As we continue our efforts to preserve and enhance the Willington on the Way History Center, we are focusing our fundraising efforts on two critical areas: replacing the windows and repairing the roof. These improvements are essential to ensuring the long-term sustainability of our historic building and protecting the valuable history we preserve within.

In addition to these crucial upgrades, we’ve already taken steps toward sustainability by replacing our thermostats with energy-efficient models, helping us reduce our environmental footprint. We need your support now more than ever to complete these vital projects. Your generous donations will help us safeguard this beloved landmark for generations to come. Thank you for your continued commitment to preserving history and making Willington on the Way a place for all to enjoy!

In addition, we are thrilled to announce that the Red Hatters will be visiting Willington on the Way on April 12, 2025, and we have some exciting events coming up this year.
